Finished the mouth and the base coat of medium brown over the black. Next, will be a lighter brown highlight, and then a final really light brown highlight. This is so fun seeing this guy come to life. This is my first time using the taxidermy mouth inserts. I'm really happy with how they worked on this piece. Thanks for looking! www.sculptute-signs.com The hard shell is complete, so now the fun job of adding the natural brown bear colors begins! I started with a black foundation, then I will build up layers of browns from dark to light. This little guy will come to life right quick with his colors. I'll be hand painting and air brushing. Carving/sculpting is finished. Here, we are applying the second coat of hard shell on to the surface of the 3.5lb. density foam. This is a polyurethane based foam coat called Styrospray 1000. Next.
