3D Carving of the Hands in Michaelangelo’s Creation of Adam

A previous client in Connecticut contacted me about creating another carving on his property this year. I had made him a standing heron carving a few years ago, and we discussed doing another heron or eagle. But he threw out the idea of making a vertical sculpture of the hands of God and Adam in the famous Sistine Chapel painting ‘The Creation of Adam”. We decided to go with that – it would be a challenging but fun piece to carve.

The stump was about 10 feet tall, so I would be carving on scaffolding.

Before… and after!
