Salamander Dimensional Sign

The Anakeesta Adventure Park in Gatlinburg, TN, opened a new mountain coaster called the HELLBENDER. The coaster is named after a common salamander found in the Great Smoky Mountains. We were privileged to be asked to create a double-sided sign for their new retail space and coaster. First, we started with cutting out all the pieces of high-density foam.

Once the pieces were cut out, we started painting all the parts.

Next, the hellbenders were carved out using smaller power tools and hand sanders.

Next, the two sides were scored, glued and screwed together with a welded steel frame embedded in between.

Anikeesta is an adventure park on top of one of the smoky mountains. The ticket holders take a chairlift to get to the park. Here we are installing the sign at the peak of the new retail building.
