This was a 14 ft. oak stump on a farm in Clinton, CT. Beverly and I met and talked about her life and the animals that she has built her home and life around. Beverly designed a series of animals that would reflect who she is and show the animals that have taken residence on her farm. All together, there is a bear, a beaver, a horse (pistol – her companion for 25 years that recently passed away), a donkey (Walter – still living on the farm), a dog (Zita – her companion of 13 years recently passed away) blue heron, fish, and a turtle. It took close to 50 hours to complete.

Dear Kris,
Thank you so much for your understanding and thorough artistic abilities. Getting me through this tribute of an incredible journey, of a dream come true, was indeed emotional for me at times. Going through years of photographs, trying to find the perfect pictures to depict certain facial features that helped you duplicate a lifelike resemblance of my “babies” was a walk down memory lane for sure. Since Pistols passing and Zita 3 months later in 2012, it has been very lonely at times. Walter and I continue to comfort each other. Hopefully my caring for other peoples pets in times of need will continue to fill the void. Thank you again.
Peace be with you and all you love,
Beverly Torell
It’s good to hear from you Beverly. I will stay in touch and bring the kids over to see you and Walter.
Chris,
Great article in the Shoreline Times! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

What an amazing way to pay tribute to her animal family.
