A chunk of oak was used for the face of the tiger to hold detail. The rest of the body was made from a huge pine stump.
The back slab is ash and the seat is poplar. The ash was engraved with a CNC router that says DHHS.

After 2 weeks, the bench was ready to deliver and install…
Here it is in the entrance of Daniel Hand High School in Madison, CT waiting to greet each person that walks through the doors.
