This 18″ diameter sign was created with walnut and poplar to give high contrast. The design was taken from the customer’s logo which appears on his website. I used a jigsaw, a router with a bevel bit and some chisels to construct the letters. I used a gouge to create the scalloped background for some added visual interest. What a beautiful design.
I only wish there were some means of getting you all of the walnut and cherry which you could use in your carvings and creations. I marvel at your talent and always enjoyed your posts.What would really be fun would be if we could subsidize you for two weeks or so and you could come to the woods and do carvings.
