The nice folks at Lasdon Park in Katonah, NY (http://www.lasdonpark.org/) had a large spring plant sale and had live music, free food and talented artisans as part of the event. They also commissioned a carving of a caterpillar on a mushroom similar to the Alice in Wonderland image and asked if I would carve it live at the event.
This is the sketch we based it from.
The carving stands close to 6 ft. tall and is made of white pine. The park is going to paint it and put it somewhere near one of their many beautiful walking paths or hiking trails.
