Carved benches are one of my favorite things to make. I enjoy the combination of an exciting image with the functionality of a piece of furniture. I also like the potential of how the carvings interact with the back of the bench.
This customer commissioned this bench as a gift for his granddaughter, “Shae”. The carvings and the back are white pine. The seat is made of poplar. Finished with a deck and fence oil wood preservative with sun, water and mildew protection.
