We had the joy of making a welcome sign for our own small town last year. Nickelsville was first settled in 1840, and there are some beautiful historic buildings around town that we wanted to compliment in the sign design. We designed a 5×10′ sign for both ends of town. Each sign is set in a timber frame structure.
Here’s the digital mockup that we submitted to the town.
We cut the sign shapes out HDU. We designed each sign to have a welded metal frame sandwiched between the layers to give the sign some more structure and wind resistance. The metal frame also had brackets on either end to attach the sign to the timber frame.
Welding and installing the frame…
We routed the letters out of HDU, sanded and painted them.
Several young men in the community helped paint, assemble and install the sign.
We removed the old sign, installed the new timber frame, and then installed the sign inside the frame.
Moving the sign to the install location…
Love this sign
They are very nicely done!
Well done! This should garner even more business!

ANOTHER MASTERPIECE !!
As always Kris, top notch work and great crew! God bless you all!
Great to hear from you Stephen. Blessings to you brother.
We love our Welcome Signs! Kris always manages to go above and beyond what is expected and he knocked this project out of the park – – – – and he managed to get everything up and ready for our “Nickelsville Days Celebration! So bright and early on the morning of the 1st day of our celebration he and his crew were installing our signs to surprise everyone. Needless to say, they were surprised and so excited. Thanks again Kris – Danny Dixon, Mayor of Nickelsville, Va.
Nicely done, Kris and crew! What a great way to bless the local community there!
