This customer contacted me about creating a life size carving of his Belgian Tervuren dog. I got my log and got to work!
Next, I started carving all the fur texture… Tervurens are known for their beautiful long coats.
I kiln dried the carving to release all the moisture in the wood, then filled the cracks to prep for painting.
I stained the carving as a base coat, then airbrushed and hand painted the dog’s markings on, referring to the pictures the owner sent.
All done!
