After about 50 hours, the 10 ft. oak carving is completed! It has been a joy to create an enduring landmark for Miss Porter’s School and the Farmington community. I rotated each character’s head to give them a little life and spontaneity. I rounded the base to pop the rings and show off the age of the tree. It also gives the carving a finished look and allows rain to drain away from the carving. It is finished with a wood preservative that gives sun, water, mold and bug protection as well as producing a warm, unifying honey tone to the sculpture. Thanks for looking!
