A local client got in touch with me about creating this fun trio of bears. The mama bear ended up being about 4.5 feet tall, and the cubs were sized proportionately to her. I carved them here at my studio and then delivered them to the client’s home.
Once I got the log gridded out and the initial forms blocked out, I could start refining the proportions.
I used my propane torch to burn the fur texture, making it black. Then I stained the whole carving to seal it.
Finished and ready for delivery!
