My friends over at Greycliff Mill in Greycliff, Montana (https://greycliffmill.com/) contacted me last year about creating a 10′ grizzly bear with her cub to complement their new destination bakery/store. They have dreamed up an incredible garden, greenhouse, grocery store, bakery and cheese cave complex situated in front of the beautiful Greycliffs that it’s all named for. The project was featured on an episode of Magnolia Network’s Restoration Road. Watch the episode for a fuller story! It’s a beautiful spot, and they’re planning on fully opening this spring. If you’re in the area, please check them out and head to the bakery, as the bakery is currently operating and is well worth a trip on its own.
I got a huge pine log to make this carving and got to work!
Blocking out…
Texturing and burning…
Finished! I carved the cub separately and added him later.
